Job description:

General Office duties including
Co-ordinating in-house lunches, arranging couriers,
Managing and booking meeting rooms
Organising travel (including flights) and hotel requirements
Scheduling and Maintaining Meeting Calendars
Proactive management of incoming mail and diary events
Preparing a weekly meeting pack ensuring all documents are received

Job requirements:

Degree in Business Studies
Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience
Language skills desirable – especially Greek, German and English
Details of any minimum training required
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Shorthand/speedwriting skills
Self motivated, self starter and innovative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective organisation and planning skills
Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
To maintain confidentiality at all times

My name is Kevin Cooney and I am currently one of two analysts working for a hedge fund in Miami, Florida whose strategy is Statistical Volatility Arbitrage. In light of the current financial crisis I am getting worried about the economy, but more specifically, the fund I work for. We have been struggling and might not make it through the current crisis. My wife is Greek, and so I have and/or can get all the necessary paperwork to allow me to work in Greece.

I am trained in quantitative finance, statistics, modeling and research. I took two years of Ph.D. courses in Finance and Economics while at the University of Utah. Even though the degree says 'Masters', I was in their Finance Ph.D. program and then after two years left the program with just the masters (i.e. I did not write a dissertation and get a Ph.D.).
