Philoctetes

Archer from northen Greece who almost did not make it to the Trojan war since he was bitten by a snake on the way there. He was left on the island Lesbos since his wound would not heal and gave his bow and arrows to his friend Heracles. Towards the end of the war Odysseus went to get him, and after being healed Philoctetes went to Troy and killed Paris with one of his arrows. On his return his people had revolted, and he sought refuge in Italy.
